Built for how school-based SLPs actually work
Data Privacy Agreement (DPA) Available
Most districts require a DPA before approving a new tool. We provide one on request. Reach out to support@storyretriever.com and we typically return a signed agreement within three business days.
Runs on every school device
Chromebook, iPad, Windows laptop, or shared computer lab. StoryRetriever works in any modern browser. Native apps are available on the App Store and Google Play for iPad and Android tablets.
Designed with child privacy in mind
Built around COPPA requirements for educational settings. We do not collect data from children. All data flows through parent or professional accounts and is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Built for team-based support
Multiple SLPs, special educators, and paraprofessionals can collaborate inside the same student workspace. Everyone supports the same stories.
Stories follow students home
Securely share a student's stories with their family in seconds. Parents see the same version you do. No printed copies, no outdated PDFs.
Shared template libraries
Build a school's library of visual social narrative templates for common transitions like cafeteria, recess, fire drills, and bus rides. Share them across your whole SLP team.
How school rollout works
Free SLP signup
Any SLP on your team can start free, today, with no IT approval required. The free Professional plan covers up to six personal student profiles and the full feature set.
Connect families
SLPs share stories with families through a secure link. Parents do not need to create an account to view a story. Families who want to add their own photos can sign up for a free family account.
Request a DPA
When you are ready to formalize, contact support@storyretriever.com. Most districts have one returned within three business days.

Questions from school administrators and SLPs
- Does StoryRetriever work on Chromebooks?
- Yes. StoryRetriever runs natively in Chrome Browser with no IT installation required. It's also available on the App Store and Google Play, ideal for schools using Chromebooks, iPads, or Android tablets.
- Can we get a Data Privacy Agreement (DPA)?
- Yes. Schools and districts that need a DPA for FERPA and COPPA compliance can contact us and we will provide one. Reach out to support@storyretriever.com.
- Can multiple SLPs share templates and student rosters?
- On the Professional plan, each SLP has their own dashboard but can collaborate within shared student profiles and access a school-wide template library.
- How is student data protected?
- StoryRetriever stores data securely, never runs ads, and never sells student data. We do not collect any information directly from children. All data flows through parent or professional accounts. StoryRetriever is designed with COPPA requirements in mind.
- How do SLPs share stories with families?
- SLPs share a student's stories with their family through a secure link. Parents see the same version the SLP does. No printed copies, no outdated PDFs.
- What does StoryRetriever cost for a school?
- Individual SLPs can start free. The Professional plan is $9.99/month per SLP, with up to 6 student profiles included. Contact us about multi-seat licensing for larger teams.
- Do you offer training or onboarding for new SLP users?
- Yes. We have video walkthroughs in the help center and offer a free 30-minute group onboarding call for districts adding three or more SLPs at once. Reach out to support@storyretriever.com to schedule.
- How does StoryRetriever handle data when a student transfers schools or graduates?
- Student profiles belong to the SLP account that created them. When an SLP archives a student, the stories are retained but no longer visible in the active dashboard. Districts that need a defined retention policy can request one as part of the DPA.
- What happens if my district uses Clever, ClassLink, or another single sign-on service?
- We are working on SSO integrations and will share a roadmap with districts during the DPA conversation. For now, individual SLP accounts are managed through email and password.
